The benefits of having multiple racquets is that you can have them strung at different tensions.
On a hot day, the tennis ball will have a higher pressure resulting in a higher ball velocity.
To compensate, use a racquet strung at a higher tension to get more control.
On a cool day, the tennis ball will have a lower pressure.
Use a racquet strung at a lower tension to compensate for the drop in ball velocity.
Some days you may be striking the ball very well, but the ball is going a foot beyond the baseline. In this situation you can just pull out a racquet strung at a slightly higher tension – problem solved.
Having several racquets of the same model also makes it easier to experiment with different strings and tensions, as well as dampeners and grips to find out what works for you best!
Based on personal experience, you may find that feel as if you and your favourite racquet share "an intimate bond and are inseparable". If that favourite racquet happens to get damaged or cracked, it may be irreplaceable, since a few years after your purchase the racquet may be out of production and no longer available. You will be forced to acquire and spend considerable effort adapting to a new racquet, which just might not ever perform like "your previous love".
Having multiple racquets may be the only time in your life where you will be able to get away with having several "girlfriends" / "boyfriends", that won't ever be jealous if you happen to play with one of them more than the others!
